Day 2: Recording with Rachie
Yesterday we ended up working on Serenity, which is a song that is very close to my heart. It was really cool to actually be on the other side of the booth for once. To be completely honest, Deficiency Syndrome was the first time I ever really coached anyone before, and that was a really weird feeling, but now to be in a studio coaching and choosing what I wanted done? Ethereal! It’s great to actually be working with musicians who love what they do, and support me in what I do, especially with pieces that actually are from my heart and not just write offs for hits. Deficiency Syndrome was also the first time I ever heard anyone else sing this song, and to have Rachie, someone who I met off YouTube sing it for me, it’s amazing. I especially love the power Rachie gives to this song, which is something I have been searching for in my singing. Let’s just hope I can belt just as much as her! Quite frankly, I’m very happy with what we did yesterday, I’m also very anxious about laying my track on top now. Either way, it’s going to happen!
